Gah, no! Why'd you say that?
There is no reason a standard configuration library cannot be used for
configuration files that are convienient to automate, read in a program,
and be easy to edit by hand.
The only reason I suggest a standard is that we have so many people
reinventing the wheel, myself included.
Registry? (shudders)
