Failing at? Yes. Based on? No.
Common defense and protection of rights are part of the Consititution.
It was not what the government was based on.

I can't tell if the drugs are wearing off or you've taken too many...

I'd agree outside of the flag on the moon, which was a very good thing.
It taught us that we have no boundaries. It's giving up on glory that
leads to those other things.
In all your ranting about the original purpose of our government, you seem to
forget that a large part of its purpose was to band together for common goals.

Neither is the Internet, the highway system, or computer technology.
I suspect you make use of all three, all of which were funded by our
government.
I think we are overtaxed, but our nation and its agenda are not defined
soley by the Constitution.

This country used fiat-monetary policy to build itself, income tax was
just more of the same kind of unethical crap. Andrew Jackson was the
last president to resist current fraudulent monetary policy.
The US wasn't very prosperour until the end of the 19th centry, after
the Civil War.
That's not to say it was the fault of government, but that your statement
about 120 years of prosperity is bunk.
