Mark Davis presented on Kororaa, a "precompiled" Gentoo-based distribution who also produces a LiveCD with XGL on the system. XGL is a layer on top of the windowing system that provides lots of cool eye candy for the desktop.

Matt Emmett presened on the Asterisk PBX application. A variety of phones compatible with the Asterisk system were presented. Also of note is the Asterisk@Home project, which is an easy way to start experimenting with Asterisk at your home. Also see Asterisk, the Future of Telephony for a good book on the subject, published by O'Reilly and released at the site above under the Creative Commons (open publishing) license, which means you can obtain the book online for free. This is Matt's last meeting, since he is moving away.
