Description
Gnome is a full featured Desktop Environment with a Development Framework.
Gnome is a very popular Desktop Environment, that is bundled with most base Unix/Linux Operating Systems. It has it own look and feel which makes it distinctive from other Desktop Environments, one of the most distinctive parts of Gnome is the simplicity in applying Desktop Enhancements.
Structure
Gnome is designed using the GTK+ Toolkit and works on top of the X.org libraries. Gnome is also equipped with it's own Desktop or Login Manager called Gnome Desktop Manager, or you can decide to you another Desktop manager to log into Gnome.
